Understanding the foundations
WHY ROOTED
Have you ever responded to an altar call and not heard back after that? Or had questions about the Christian faith that a Sunday service can’t really answer? You're not alone.
Rooted covers the foundations of the Christian faith over eight sessions. It cannot make a disciple, but it can help you become one — and help you make one.
Anyone who has recently decided to follow Jesus, or has been around church a while and wants solid ground under their feet. No prior knowledge needed.
Who’s it for?
You’ll need a free Church Center account to register and keep your Faith Journey up to date, along with access to Zoom for the Water Track session.
Before you start
HOW IT WORKS
An eight-session hybrid cohort
All eight sessions are taught live by an instructor, with the rest of your cohort. Come with your questions — there’s room to ask them.
Live on Zoom
Three in-person debriefs
You’ll meet your cohort in person three times to recap what you’ve covered. All three are required to complete Rooted.
INSIDE ROOTED
What you’ll cover
01 The Beginning
Knowing who God is, and what it even means to know Him.
02 Salvation
What it means to be made new, and how the new differs from the old.
03 Lordship
What it means for Jesus to be Lord, and why that differs from Savior.
Debrief ONE
Recap sessions 1–3 in-person.
04 Repentance
Why we still need to repent after accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord.
05 Baptism
Why baptism matters, and the difference between physical and spiritual baptism.
06 Devotion
How to show devotion to the Lord through the Bible and prayer.
Debrief TWO
Recap sessions 4–6 in-person.
07 Church
What it means for us to be the church, and why a local body matters.
08 Discipleship
Moving from choosing Jesus to following Him — and helping others do the same.
Final Debrief
Recap sessions 7–8 in-person, and talk about what comes next.
